Family Promise of Western Waukesha county, an affiliate of Family Promise, is a 501 (c) (3) organization which assists local homeless children and their families. Families facing a housing crisis are provided with overnight shelter, meals and support services with the goal of achieving permanent housing and sustainable independence.

Cross is considered a Support Church. This means we do not host the families, we just assist the church who is hosting. There are several ways that we can assist the Host Church. We can help with purchasing needed supplies the church or family needs, we can supply packaged food, or we can make dinner for the families. Then there are more "hands" on things we can do. Such as serving the meals, spending time with the families during the evening (5:30pm-8:30pm), or you can spend the night (8:30pm-7:00am).

For any of us who are interested in doing the "hands on" activities, we need to attend a short training with Family Promise. We will put a sign up sheet in the narthex for anyone who would like to attend one of the trainings. If we get enough to people signed up, it could be offered at our church. -Terri
